Mentor Protégé Program

The Mentor Protégé Program (MPP) is a government created program developed to enhance the capabilities of a small business through the assistance and mentorship from a large business. NASA is the only federal agency with a small business goal for the HBCU/MSI category, thus allowing the HBCU/MSIs to participate in NASA’s MPP. The JPL MPP follows the intent and design of the NASA MPP.

A key objective of the MPP is to enhance the eligible entity’s capability to become a reliable and proven resource for JPL projects and missions. For more information, send an email to smallbusiness.programsoffice@jpl.nasa.gov and enter Mentor Protégé Program in the subject line.

The following entities are eligible to be considered as protégés:

  • Small Business (SB) – Phase II SBIR/STTR Program

  • Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB)

  • Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB)

  • HUBZone-Owned Small Business (HUB)

  • Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)
